  • Workshop on Tensions in Cosmology, September 6 – September 13, 2023, Corfu Summer Institute. The conference has the aim to discuss the recent tensions in cosmology, and among cosmologists, namely several possible anomalies that cannot be fully understood in the minimal, yet optimal, cosmological paradigm. In particular: the Hubble constant tension, the clustering parameter or “σ8” discrepancy, the lensing anomaly, or the large-angular-scale anomalies in the CMB temperature and polarization, will be the focus of the meeting. The deadline for abstract submission has been extended to July 10 2023.

Early bird registration Deadline 31.05.2023.
  • Time and Clocks, 27 Feb – 03 Mar 2023, Bad Honnef, Germany. The 781. WE-Heraeus-Seminar “Time and Clocks” intends to bring together scientists from different disciplines in order to foster a productive dialogue on the problematic issues in connection with “time” and “clock”. A whole spectrum of shifts in, and losses of, interpretations occur in the transitions between classical mechanics, quantum mechanics, special-relativistic quantum-field theory, general relativity, and, finally, quantum gravity. We specifically aim to characterise, in scientific terms, a common understanding of what the “problem of time” really entails. Our seminar addresses Ph.D. students as well as researchers beyond their Ph.D. degree.
